March, Rally, Occupy!

A day of action for housing justice in Rhode Island!
Join Occupy Providence, the Rhode Island Housing Advocacy Project, and the Rhode Island Coalition for the Homeless as we occupy the state house lawn, calling on our elected officials to take action to end homelessness and protect Rhode Islanders’ right to safe and affordable housing. Activities all day and all night, including:
- 12PM: Community lunch at Burnside Park, followed by a march through the city to the State House!
- 2 PM: Rally at the State House lawn
- Followed by an afternoon of activities at the State House, including a rally, teach-in, General Assembly, music, and vigil.
Bring a tent and stay the night. Breakfast & non-denominational church service in the morning on Sunday.
Our homeless shelters are full, foreclosure rates remain high, and too many hardworking families are unable to find an affordable place to live. It’s time our state leaders act to ensure everyone has the opportunity to live in safe, affordable housing. Join us as we call on Governor Chafee and our state legislators to pass crucial legislation to ensure all Rhode Islanders have a place to call home.
