Our fight against the corporate power and inequality is hollow until all forms of oppression are raised to the center of our struggle.

In our first public action, The Women/Trans/Genderqueer Caucus and the Queer Caucus joyfully invite you to join us for:

Occupy The Night
Saturday, December 3rd
6PM until Sunday morning

Occupy The Night will be a night of queer/feminist action, conversation, and community building inspired by Take Back the Night. We will rally, march, speak out, discuss, sing, dance, make art, eat, and occupy together.

We want Occupy the Night to place women and queer folk at the center of the Occupy Movement. Through this event, we seek to expose the links between gender, sexual, and class oppression; to provide demonstrative contrast and real solutions to the patriarchal tenor of the occupation thus far; to celebrate the strength of our voices and the power of our rage; and to kick off the next phase of our movement— one that is TRULY FOR THE 99%!

Want to get involved?

Join us this Sunday, November 27th to help plan for the big night! Potluck dinner at 7PM, followed by a planning meeting and banner making at 8PM and a sleep out in Burnside Park.

Other ways to help shape Occupy the Night:

  • Spread the word! Forward this email, print and paste the flyer, invite friends to our facebook event!
  • Organize a group of your friends (women, queers, and allies!) to form a contingent for the Occupy the Night March!
  • Facilitate a workshop or participate in one of our discussions!
  • Perform at Occupy The Night!
  • Plan an art project or activity!

Have questions? Want more information about the event and how to get involved? Contact Annie Rose London at annie.rose.london@gmail.com

Thank you, and hope to see you on Saturday, December 3rd!

Love and Solidarity,

The Women/Trans/Genderqueer Caucus and the Queer Caucus of Occupy Providence
